A Chef’s Knife – There is one guarantee in the kitchen, you will need a knife when cooking. A good chef’s knife can be used for many tasks. It is not necessary to buy the most expensive knife, but it is important that you like the way it feels in your hand. As you expand your arsenal, a serrated knife and paring knife would be the next two knifes to acquire.
A Non-Stick Frying Pan – This is an absolute necessity for cooking eggs and making pancakes and can be used for a multitude of purposes (think searing meats or sautéing vegetables .
A Sheet Pan – This is the Swiss army knife of the kitchen and can be used for roasting vegetables, baking meats, toasting nuts and of course baking cookies.
